Through this initiative, we engage community and traditional leaders such as traditional communicators (kanyalengs), women groups (Kafos), and neighborhood clubs and host trainings sessions for them various advocacy themes such as FGM, child and forced marriages, and gender-based violence .
We believe that traditional communicators and community leaders are important social agents to involve in our campaign to end all harmful practices and gender-based violence, thus we engage and empower them with tools to transform our advocacy messages into songs and drama spots in local languages which are used in community engagements during social events and community radios for public sensitization.
Since Drama is a powerful mechanism of spreading information, through this initiative, we engage community leaders in developing short dramas in local languages targeting young people, parents, policy makers and implementers to increase knowledge and support to end all forms of violence against women and harmful practices.
