This thematic area focuses on equipping girls and young women with interpersonal, self-esteem, assertiveness skills, and confidence to demand for protection of their rights and maintain healthy relationships. Since young people are leaders and change agents, it is crucial that they are equipped with the necessary tools and skills to be critical, independent and empowered to take actions in ending all forms of violence against girls and women. The Girls’ Agenda believes that the full and active participation of young people especially girls and young women is crucial for sustainable development, thus the need to build their leadership, management and governance skills.
