Ida Jatta is a Program Officer for TGA working together with the Program Manager to ensure the effective implementation of TGA’s strategic plan and annual work plans.
With over six years of experience working with children, women and young people focusing on empowerment, peace building, and policy advocacy, Ida develops action plans that target adolescents and young people especially the marginalized populations.
Prior to TGA, She serve as the Vice-Chairperson of Peace Ambassador-The Gambia, a peace education and advocacy organization focusing on the development of the human mind. She also serves as the Vice President of Global Hands-The Gambia, a non-profit organisation under the main umbrella of Global Hands UK (Leicester), whose main goal is to support young people and build their capacities to address both local and global issues.
As a social justice activist and a fervent believer in human rights, she participates in campaigns and lobbying for progressive laws and policies that advance sexual and reproductive health rights of young people and addresses the challenges they faced.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hon.) in Development Studies from the University of The Gambia and a certificate in Public Management from Ohio State University. She is a Mandela Washington Fellow and has participated in the 2017 flagship program of President
