Girls’ equal access to quality and relevant education is a basic human right and crucial for the progress of any society. When girls are educated, their chances of economic independence and empowerment increase, thus reducing their risk of facing gender-based violence and discrimination. TGA engages in advocacy for investment in girls’ education and end discriminatory practices in education. Additionally we advocate for safe and secure school environment for girls to learn and thrive. Furthermore, there is a huge disparity between access to tertiary education between male and female in The Gambia, thus TGA advocates for girls’ access to university education and encourage and support young women to pursue tertiary education. The Mentorship component aimed to help nurture and develop the potential of girls and young women as better advocates and leaders who will take on the cause of promoting girls and women’s rights.
